Albayrak sensitizes citizens about smog and its precautionary measures

Lahore: Albayrak Waste Management engaged students of Baghbanpura High School in its smog awareness drive near Shalamar Bagh, UC-36 on Thursday. The drive aimed to sensitize the citizens about smog threat and essential precautionary measures needed to minimize the impacts of smog on human health. At the awareness camp established near Shalamar Bagh, Albayrak team along with the students distributed face masks and awareness literature among the citizens, requesting them to wear masks while going outside in the polluted air.
Speaking on the event, Assistant Manager Albayrak Sohail Mahmood requested people to avoid waste burning, avoid burning crop remnants and smoke emitting vehicles and plant maximum trees in their surroundings. He added that the citizens must ensure cleanliness in and around historical buildings and public places.
Later, a plantation drive was carried out in which school administration and students planted saplings and prayed for the country’s peace and prosperity.
An awareness walk was also arranged at the end of one-day drive.
